(Re-upload) A look at my logo through the years

Over the years, a lot of changes have been made ever since I made my original proof of concept for The Wonder Belt logo. Today, I thought I would go through what was going on in my head and what limits, or advantages I had during the journey of getting to where the logo is now.

The First Vector Image

The first SVG image/ proof of concept for my logo.

As you can see, there was a lot going on in the oldest version of the logo. I was trying to go for a detailed yet stylish theme including outer space, hoping I would be able to edit the background to be circular and complete the image that was in my head. I, however, was not able to make the background see through regardless of it being a PNG, since I didn't have Photoshop at the time. Since I never figured this out, and I wasn't all that fond of what I had made, I put in in a folder on my computer and came back to the idea of making a newer logo about a month later.

The Second Vector Image

Second SVG image of my Logo. The latest version I use.

Fun Fact: The rings around the W were supposed to be asteroid belts.

The very next version of my logo is the modern version (sort of like an outline for any 3D extrusions). This version could be used on it's own and it would still stand up quite well wherever I put it. I believe this is the case because of how clean it looks compared to the rougher, older version, and this has to do with the fact that I made this one using Illustrator, making it a vector image. I later on edited this version in Photoshop to have a see through background and turn it into what I consider a proper PNG image file.

The First 3D Model

My first attempt at a 3D logo.

The next version I made of this logo was my first attempt at modeling the image in a 3D package. I wasn't all that happy with the results, but I kept it nonetheless as it took me a while to make it. The hardest part was making the W, as it was a bit hard to wrap my head around how it would look in a 3D space.

Second 3D Model

My current 3D logo.

The final, and current version of my logo was the easiest to make, as all I needed to do was take my more modern SVG file of the logo, open up Blender and click on the extrude from an SVG file option in the menu. Doing this had the best results for my work, even if I don't use this option often.
