Took 18 minutes to render in Keyshot 6.

Surprise! I'm trying my hand at fashion design now using the programme Marvelous Designer.

What did it look like before the render?

Something like this:

Basically, this is the 3D viewport right next to the 2D viewport. The 2D viewport shows what the patterns for the outfit looks like before you position and simulate the cloth in the 3D viewport. I made sure to hide the avatar as I only wanted to show the dress.

What materials did you use?

I used the fabric of muslin for the simulation and the texture of cotton. I made sure to add a normal map in order to show off the texture in it's best light.

Most importantly, what made me make this?

Well, I was playing around with the tools trying to make something that looked decent enough, when I figured that what I was making seemed to have the look of something somewhat loose and ancient, with a modern spin to it. After making it look a bit more like the theme I was creating, I ended up deciding it looked like something out of ancient rome, like something to the far right in the following picture:

After all of that, I followed this tutorial to render my finished product in Keyshot 6.
