Hello there.I thought I would give an update on my new graphics tablet after all this time, but to address the elephant in the room, yes I will eventually finish that picture I was working on in Clip Studio Paint. School work got in the way, plus I realised I need a bit more practice, so I'll be taking it a bit easier on that project for now.
Now that we have that out of the way, here is my write up on the key differences between the Wacom intuos and my old XP-Pen G430. Product links below.
First of all, size. My Intuos is absolutely bigger than my old XP-Pen G430 hands down. For me, this was a huge relief despite the small difference in size because I was struggling before to even move my hands despite their small size on the XP-Pen G430's active surface area. This small size was also impacting how easily I could draw anything on a zoomed out canvas in any art program, making it hard to put in that fine detail while also seeing what the whole thing looks like.
Next is custumization. When I say customization, I mean the ease at which anyone can change the settings of the pen as well as the tablet in order to make the whole process a bit easier on you, whatever you may be doing at the time. My Wacom Intuos wins on the grounds that instead of only being able to customize the Pen and hotkeys like the XP-Pen G430, I can also adjust each individual button on the tablet and what actions they will perform. On top of that, each and every button and gesture on the tablet and pen will be adjustable based on the individual programme you are using at the moment.
Hover Height. This part may be a bit minor to some, but this is something that the XP-Pen G430 has on the Wacom Intuos. I find it impressive that it has a higher hover distance from the tablet than I can get with the Wacom Intuos. This is still something that I'm still trying to get used to even today. This is more about comfort though, which is why I called it minor.
And that's all the things I found important on both tablets. I would definitely suggest to anyone interested in a graphics tablet to at least try out the Intuos as it had won my affection the day I heard about it. As promised, click on the images below for your own research purposes:
Thanks for reading, and good luck hunting for your next graphics tablet!
